Security MeasuresAn open cockpit sports car as beautiful and desirable as the Tesla Roadster demands the highest level of security against theft or unauthorized use. We’ve built in a host of safeguards that combine proven theft prevention technology with innovative features. Alarm SystemThe Tesla Roadster is equipped with an alarm system as standard equipment. The alarm is switched on automatically whenever the doors are locked using the remote handset. Once activated, the alarm monitors the opening of both doors and the hood. A clearly visible indicator light on the center console flashes whenever the alarm is active. Personal Identification NumberA comprehensive security feature of the Tesla Roadster is the personal identification number (PIN). Access to the Roadster begins and ends with this owner-generated PIN. Entering the PIN via the Touch Screen Display grants you access to the Roadster and associated features. Using the same PIN can quickly deny access to everyone else. Valet ModePeace of mind while enjoying a dinner or event with valet parking is at your fingertips. A few taps on the Touch Screen Display, and the Roadster is power and speed limited. While in Valet Mode, the Roadster logs distance traveled, top speed reached, unlock attempts, and number of times the trunk has been opened. Valet Mode can only be deactivated by entering your PIN. | |
